like a tree

A tree by the river flourishes. It bears good fruit. It basically stays in good shape getting its nourishment from the river waters and from the fertile soil along the river banks.

In life, what does it mean to stay close to the river? What does it mean to drink from the river?

How well God must like you—
  …

2-3 … you thrill to God’s Word,
you chew on Scripture day and night.
You’re a tree replanted in Eden,
    bearing fresh fruit every month,
Never dropping a leaf,
    always in blossom.

4-5 You’re not at all like the wicked,
    who are mere windblown dust—
Without defense in court,
    unfit company for innocent people.

God charts the road you take.
The road they take is Skid Row. Psalm 1 (Bible)
