Lent – Palm Sunday

Rituals, Celebrations and Days dedicated to a specific event/memory are all ways we remember as a community. It’s a way our created beings acknowledge and remember the involvement and interaction with out Creator.

The Bible is replete with ways God intervenes in history and into personal lives to show His love for us. It is good to Selah (ponder and remember) the acts of God.

That being said. We are well into Lent. A season of remembering and preparing for the victory celebration of the first Easter morning, but also remembering the heart of God, the power of His salvation and soak in His love.

This year (2017) we as a family started off the Lenten period with the burning of the ashes (we jotted down in words and images the things we struggle with). We acknowledged (out aloud) God’s love and purpose for our lives .

dsc03247.jpgProclaiming the hope that we have in Jesus Christ because of His death and resurrection and our need for Him in our lives we placed crosses of ashes on our forehead.

We also started our seeds in a glass jar. We watered it and watched it grow.

The seed has now given life to the seedling

I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone [just one grain, never more]. But if it dies, it produces much grain and yields a harvest. John 12:24 (AMP)

Now the seedlings are in the ground, growing further more to produce more beans and seeds 🙂

–What does that mean for us ? How are we willing to offer our beings and lives for the other, so that they too may grow and produce more fruit.

—What does that mean as we head towards Palm sunday – The day our Lord Jesus willingly went into the city He knew would turn back and crucify Him.

He(Jesus) gave His Life so that we may Live. So that we may know the heart of God and His love for His created beings.
