“Light and Life to all He brings”(Malachi 4:1-3) – lyrics from a very popular Christmas carol “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”has been on my mind. I have been praying with a heavy heart over so many atrocities we (human kind) are imposing on our own kind… wars and discrimination and greed and anger… Lord have mercy. But God is an encourager – Press on and be who God has made you to be … beautiful, loving, encouraging and uplifting. Jesus is the true Light and He will shine through bringing Abundant Life to all who persevere in this journey.
In this doodle the 2 paisleys or mangas (in tamil) depict abundant life. (These patterns can be traced back to about 22o AD. To the Zorastrians, this represented the Cypress Tree which was their symbol of everlasting life.) Here the paisleys/mangas are arranged to form the outline of a ‘deepam’, a lamp that bears light. Thus representing the Light and abundant, flourishing and blooming Life that is granted when we believe in Jesus and live as He desires…so don’t be so down cast my soul put your hope in God and continue to be and do the good works God has planned for you.
