A call to repentance with the hope of forgiveness

The Jewish tradition includes a sound blast of the shofar. The shofar is a call to the people. Here it is a call to repentance. The silhouettes of people in palm branches indicate a cry of ‘Hosanna’. Son of God please ‘save us’. The crown of thorns represents the sacrifice of blood(life) for life. And with that hope in forgiveness (because of that sacrifice), from our souls rises   a call for repentance. This repentance is not just of individual sins but of the sins of mankind.
