a burried seed

Have you ever watched a seed grow into a plant/seedling? The past few years during lent(a time of prayer/fasting and focus on God) my kids and I have watched a moistened seed grow through a glass jar. The process is amazing to watch. The seed grows in size soaking up the moisture. It even rises as its roots emerge and plunge downward. Then you see green sprouting from the seed. And soon there is no sign of the seed we sowed. It decreases in size and/or simply withers away.  And if you watch it long enough the seedling soon bears many more leaves, longer fuller roots and then there are many, many more such seeds or pods with seeds we can use.

In the Bible Jesus said,”Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit…”

This is my pondering over the true purpose of life.
