St. Patrick was English. Abducted by the Irish, he was then thrown into slavery, escaped, entered the priesthood and felt called to go back to the very people that wronged him. He went back and spread the Christian faith of forgiveness, grace, and Trinity. It seems he has been adopted by the Irish through living a life very similar to that of Christ. Ironic considering the tumultuous relationship between the Irish and English over time.
Where have you been a stranger in a foreign land and maybe even hurt, that you are being called to go back and bring reconciliation, peace, grace, and allow the Trinity to be experienced within you?
Blessed St. Patrick Feast Day.

The arms of God be around my shoulders
The touch of the Holy Spirit upon my head,
The sign of Christ’s cross upon my forehead,
The sound of the Holy Spirit in my ears,
The fragrance of the Holy Spirit in my nostrils,
The vision of heaven’s company in my eyes,
The conversation of heaven’s company on my lips,
The work of God’s church in my hands,
The service of God and the neighbour in my feet,
A home for God in my heart,
And to God, the Father of all, my entire being.

This is beautiful! Since getting back from Ireland last summer, I have an even greater respect for Patrick! This is a great reminder of transformational forgiveness!
